TDP pageant entry Round 1 - the theme was Fairytale Makeover. Basically, we had to make a modernised version of a fairytale character.
I chose to do the swan princess from The Tale of Tsar Saltan ([link]). I didn't find any good pics of the princess, but I used these two lines of description: "In her braids, a crescent beamed, On her brow, a bright star gleamed" The pattern on the top was loosely inspired by some pictures of Russian national dress, and the white feather bracelet symbolises the swan. I think the doll turned out pretty well, all in all, though I still fail @ braids. [link] - Base |
