My stance on fav-and-run

Fri Oct 30, 2009, 8:07 AM
I don't think fav-and-run is always a bad thing; far from it. I can perfectly understand fav-and-running if a work already has a lot of comments and there's nothing new to add, or if you've already commented on the artist's other works, or if sometimes you just can't think anything to say. I do generally appreciate favs with or without comments.

What I don't appreciate is checking my messages and seeing "x has favourited your entire gallery." No comments. If my work really means that much to you, if you love it all so much you'd consider it to be your favourite, then how hard can it be to leave a comment? One meaningful comment is worth a thousand favs.

If you fave one or a few of my submissions, it tells me you liked those more than my other stuff. If you fave everything I submit, it tells me nothing other than "this person clicks a button on everything that turns up on deviantWatch".

I know I'm not a very active member and my art is far from outstanding. I don't expect a lot of comments and favs, and I don't mind logging on and seeing no new messages. But when I get a message, I'd like it to mean something. If you're going to fav everything I submit without ever commenting, then please don't bother.

tl;dr: I don't mind a few fav-and-runs, just don't go overboard with it.

Holy shit a meme?

Yup, I actually did do a meme (blame Iofiel. She infected me with meme-madness). It doesn't involve art, but it will most likely involve you mocking my music preferences.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RULES:
1. Put Your itunes, windows media player, MP3player, etc on Shuffle

2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.

3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS

4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I should probably note that I don't actually have a playlist as such - I listen to music on YouTube. I just wrote down some of the songs I listen to most often and used the shuffle tool ([link]) to randomise them. And yes, I did actually put in more bands. These few just kept turning up, for some reason :/

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you male or female?
The Cranberries - Daffodil Lament (apparently, I'm a daffodil. Hunh. Didn't see that one coming.)

Describe yourself!
Indigo Girls - Joking (hey, this could be pretty accurate actually. It's too corny to cry...)

What do people feel when they're around you?
Jethro Tull - Rover (they want to leave and be free of me? I'd like to say no, but I'd be lying.)

Describe your current relationship.
The Smiths - Bigmouth Strikes Again (I'm not in a relationship, but I could TOTALLY see this happening)

Where would you like to be now?
Tuberkuloited - Põhjamaa neid (...but I'm THERE already! Sorta...)

How do you feel about love?
Indigo Girls - Ghost (again, pretty accurate I suppose. Only not quite as dramatic.)

What's your life like?
The Cranberries - Never Grow Old (hah, I wish!)

What would you ask for if you had only one wish?
The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) (a wangster would probably be one of the last things I'd ask for. Better than a weeaboo, though.)

Say something wise.
The Smiths - Reel Around the Fountain

If someone says "is this okay?" you say...
The Offspring - Feelings (apparently, asking 'is this okay?' fills me with burning hatred)

What do you like in a guy/girl?
Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses (er, no comment.)

How do you feel today?
;pruse Puiestee - Allverelaev (I feel like a having a heart attack? I hope not!)

What is your life's purpose?
The Cranberries - I Still Do (...not really)

What is your motto?
The Offspring - Hit That (oh, come ON XDDD)

What do you think of your parent(s)?
The Decemberists - The Crane Wife Part 1 (...good thing it wasn't part 3)

What do you think about very often?
Michal Bajor - Nie chcę więcej (apparently, I think in Polish. If only I could understand what I'm thinking...)

What is 2 + 2?
Jethro Tull - Dark Ages (2+2 = the collapse of society? Sounds good to me.)

What do you think of your best friend?
The Offspring - Self Esteem (really, now, I'm not really that big of a bitch XDD)

What do you think of the person you like?
The Offspring - Pay the Man (I don't really know what to say to this... I don't really like anyone that way, anyway)

What is your life story?
Metro Luminal - Sulle (I should hope not, but actually I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out like this...)

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Indigo Girls - Romeo and Juliet (er, no thank you.)

What will you dance to at your wedding?
The Offspring - She's Got Issues (oh yeah, that's gonna be one happy marriage)

What will they play at your funeral?
The Cranberries - Ridiculous Thoughts (oh wow, that's... pretty disturbing, actually)

What is your hobby/interest?
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (yup, you got it. Being a hobo is TOTALLY my secret hobby)

What is your biggest fear?
The Cranberries - Zombie (well, I did used to be pretty scared of zombies when I was a kid...)

What is your biggest secret?
The Cranberries - I Can't Be With You (guess it's not such a secret anymore, eh?)

What do you think of your friends?
Jethro Tull - Wond'ring Aloud (ehh, that's kinda creepy... I mean, it's a nice song, but I REALLY don't think of my friends like that)

Don't have anything to say, really, but figured I should put up a journal entry to link to my sister site.

So here it is:
Dolaria of Autumn Rose Dolls ([link]), also :icondolaria: on dA now.
She's a really good doller and pixel artist, so check her out!
